----About iFUNFoods project----

IFUNFoods aims to produce innovative foods with immobilized cultures of lactic acid bacteria on natural prebiotic substrates (nuts, fruits, cereals, etc.) and to study any beneficial properties of these crops in humans. It is therefore an ambitious 3-year research project that focuses on escalating innovative technological processes for the production of probiotic ingredients, evaluating their effectiveness, using experimental models and confirming their beneficial properties by conducting clinical trials. It is a vertical approach that aims to isolate "wild" type lactic acid strains from biological samples, such as traditionally fermented foods, their evaluation and characterization and then to the development, evaluation and production of symbiotic nutrients that enhance vitality and increase life of probiotic strains, offering beneficial properties for human health.
